Folacca Beach
Beaches & Coves

Folacca Beach

Route de Palombaggia, Porto-Vecchio

Set in the heart of Palombaggia, Folacca beach is one of the most beautiful stretches of white sand in the area. As a Terra D'Oro guest, you have direct access to a car park right beside the beach, so getting to the sea couldn't be simpler.

Offshore, a charming rocky islet rises on the horizon: the more athletic can swim out to it, or you can reach it more easily by kayak or paddleboard, both available for hire on the beach.

To the left, at the far end of the beach, you'll discover superb rock formations that children love to explore, along with a small, shallow lagoon that is perfect for watching marine life with a mask.

For those keen on deeper dives, we recommend the Dolfinu Biancu diving centre, just to the right of Le Petit Chose, which runs dive trips for all ages, from 8 to 99.

Carry on walking past their kiosk and you'll come to a sand dune leading to the more secluded beach of Acciaghju, a true haven of peace.

Santa Giulia Beach Beaches & Coves

Santa Giulia Beach

On the road to Bonifacio, Santa Giulia is, along with Palombaggia, one of the most iconic beaches in South Corsica — both are regularly ranked among the most beautiful. L'Ospedale & Bavella

Ospedale / Bavella Pass (45–90 min)

If you're in the mood for a mountain escape, we suggest a short trip up to the village of L'Ospedale, perched above the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio and offering exceptional views.

This little village is ideal for a lunch stop: we recommend U Funtanonu, a restaurant steeped in authentic Corsican character.

Carry on along the road and you'll reach Lake Ospedale, then the start of the trail to Piscia di Ghjaddu: an intermediate-level hike, fairly flat on the whole, leading to a magnificent waterfall.

From the lake, allow around an hour's further drive via the village of Zonza to reach the famous Bavella Pass and its breathtaking scenery.

Bonifacio — A Perfect Day
Heritage & Villages

Bonifacio — A Perfect Day

Bonifacio (30–40 min)

If you were to see only one place in South Corsica, we would recommend Bonifacio without hesitation. Around 30 to 40 minutes away by car, this unique town is well worth a full day.

Set off early in the morning to find a parking space at the harbour. Head to the quayside to book a boat trip of around an hour and a half: lagoons, sea caves and the impressive cliffs from which the houses of Bonifacio seem to hang.

Plan to be back for lunchtime. After lunch, take the little tourist train up to the citadel. Once at the top, treat yourself to an artisan ice cream at Le Glacier Rocca-Serra.

We then suggest a stroll through the old town: charming lanes, small boutiques and spectacular views over the sea. Come back down on foot: the descent offers superb views of the harbour from above.

The Oso River

Oso, South Corsica (20–30 min)

For one of the nearest and most accessible river outings, we recommend the Oso river, around 20 to 30 minutes' drive to the north.
